Frequently Asked Questions
Find answers to common questions about our defensive driving course.
What is this course?
This is a state-approved online defensive driving course designed for individuals referred by a municipal court or those looking to improve their driving knowledge. The course covers safe driving practices, traffic laws, and defensive driving techniques. Upon successful completion, you will receive a certificate that can be submitted to the court or used for insurance purposes.
How long does the course take?
The course is typically 4 hours of instructional content. You can work through it at your own pace — there is no requirement to complete it in a single session. Each section has a minimum time requirement to ensure you have adequate time to review the material. Your progress is saved automatically so you can return and pick up where you left off.
Can I save my progress?
Yes. Your progress is saved automatically as you work through the course. You can log out at any time and resume from exactly where you stopped when you log back in. There is no need to start over.
How do I get my certificate?
Once you complete all course sections and pass the final exam, your certificate of completion is generated automatically and available for download as a PDF from your dashboard. If your court organization is configured for automatic notification, the court will also be notified electronically of your completion.
What devices can I use?
The course works on any modern device with a web browser — desktop computers, laptops, tablets, and smartphones. We recommend using an up-to-date browser such as Chrome, Safari, Firefox, or Edge for the best experience. No special software or plugins are required.
What if I fail the final exam?
If you do not pass the final exam on your first attempt, you may retake it. You will have the opportunity to review the course material before trying again. The passing score and number of allowed attempts may vary depending on your organization's requirements.
